About Aldous Kelly

Aldous Kelly is an artist and designer based in Nipaluna/Hobart, Lutruwita/Tasmania.

He is currently working in the digital space, creating with the Procreate app on an iPad.

Aldous has held solo painting and sculpture exhibitions in New Zealand and Australia, was a maker with Snuff Puppets, and has built up an extensive illustration and graphic design portfolio. As a musician Aldous has performed at All Tomorrows Parties and Dark Mofo festivals.

Inspired by cultural chaos and the margins of society. His work broaches the act of being human in an increasingly unnatural world, with a sense of levity and dark humour. His work is a riot of colour featuring observations of people interacting and engaging in everyday activities.

Subjects include but are not limited to: side eye, sunburn, shady behaviour, boots, Friday night pants, hairdos, the apocalypse and people with no particular place to go.
